What Is This Album About?  
The simplest answer to this question is that I AM NOT A VIRUS is about telling Asian American stories in the 21st century. Amid the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, the pandemic's impact on Asian Americans was not something that we took lightly. In a season that left me feeling depressed and a bit hopeless, I wanted to create a time capsule that would explain what we lived through. I gathered four friends, and we set out to heal through the creation of this record.  
Recorded During a Pandemic  
I AM NOT A VIRUS was recorded in the most meticulous COVID standards during July of 2020.We recorded at Hope College Studios in Holland, Michigan, and everyone was distanced and masked appropriately.

Inside the Music
Each song on this album was written with purpose. In composing this music, I wanted to dispel the stereotypes that Asian Americans must act or think a certain way.  In doing so, I hoped to create a more 3-dimensional picture of who we are.
